Championships and International Selections

At the end of May, two of our athletes represented the national team at the European Challenger Championships in Monaco.
Noémie finished 4th in the javelin with a throw of 50.17 m, while Fanny placed 6th in the 1500 m with a time of 4:32.46.
Here are the results from that meeting.

One week later came the first important event for the team standings in Luxembourg: the Senior Interclub Championships.
The CAD performed very well in Ettelbruck, securing 2nd place in the women’s competition and 3rd place in the men’s competition. In the overall standings, this resulted in 2nd place behind CSL.

This weekend, our youth athletes were mainly competing at the Combined Events Championships. Worth highlighting is that we swept all the men’s titles: Mex won the Cadets category, Dylan the Juniors category, and Jon the Espoirs (U23) category — all with new personal bests (PBs). Laura also reached the podium in the Cadettes category, finishing in 2nd place.

Over the past month, our long-distance runners have taken part in competitions almost every weekend and achieved a string of good results:

Interclub with a different twist: “Living like in the South”

Once again this year, CAD took part in the Dudelange clubs’ Interclub event.
After taking a break last year and winning the three previous editions, the mission was clear: defend our title — this time with a new and young team.

In the end, we achieved an excellent second place. Congratulations to Klenge Stemmveräin on their victory — once again, it was an exciting final against you!

A big thank you as well to the municipality for the organization, to our supporters for the atmosphere, and to the other three participating clubs:

Interclub Jeunes / Interclub Senior

At the moment, things have become quieter in the athletics stadiums on weekends — it is a meeting break before the Seniors Interclub, which will take place on June 6 and 7 in Ettelbruck. During the week, however, our athletes continue to train diligently in order to be in their best shape for the event.

Before the Senior Interclub, it is also a good opportunity to look back at the Youth Interclub at the end of April in Schifflange, where our young athletes delivered excellent performances:

CAD at the heart of children’s introduction to sport

Through the ‘FUNdamentals Team Lëtzebuerg’ project, initiated by INAPS, children in Dudelange had the chance to get active, have fun and discover new sports.

Over a period of several weeks, a range of activities were organised for children at the “Maison relais”. Among the partner clubs, Cercle Athlétique Dudelange stood out for its commitment and energy on the ground, in partnership with the Maison Relais Brill.

Through fun and accessible workshops, led by our coach Isabelle Bourscheid, the club enabled the children to try their hand at athletics whilst developing their motor skills, coordination and self-confidence. Its commitment played a key role in the project’s success.

Alongside other local clubs, the Cercle Athlétique Dudelange helped to instil in the children a love of sport and a desire to stay active.

A lap at the Cloche d’Or

While our technical event athletes and sprinters started the month at the National Indoor Championships, our long-distance runners were competing at Cloche d’Or.

Several of them were registered for the CGDIS Run and the Postlaf.

A strong haul of podiums at the National Indoor Championships

The month of March started this year with the National Indoor Championships at the Coque. At this closing event of the indoor season, several of our athletes managed to reach the podium:
