September Recap
As every year, our long-distance runners are taking part in road races this September. The Kulturlauf on September 7 was followed by the Steel Run on September 15. Our highlight so far was definitely Raphael and Liz’s performance at the Steel Run. Raphael just missed out on the podium in fourth place in 1:05:20 – he can be proud of his performance. Liz crossed the finish line directly behind him in 1:05:32 and was the first woman of the day to do so.
The Coupe de Luxembourg on September 21 and 22 was the CAD’s most important competition in the fall. Despite a number of absences – because the date of the competition was subsequently postponed! – we were able to compete with two complete teams.
The ladies took the lead and our young team showed how the race is run. Our Lena won her first ever hurdles race in the senior women’s category. Lara and Daphnée were strong in the throwing events and Liz scored very important points for the club with her triple (800 m, 1500 m, 3000 m), just like Caroline in her 4 races (200m, 400m, 4x100m, 4x400m).
Our CAD ladies ended up in 2nd place, behind the CSL with almost 326 points less and ahead of FOLA with 362 points more.
The next day it was the turn of our men. They also fought, but had to settle for 4th place – because our 4x400m relay was unfortunately disqualified.
