C. Rhoden again over 2.30m!

Rain shower at 2.05 splits the field in two

During his second appearance in Dudelange, Christian Rhoden (GER) was as amazing as back in 1998. After several rain showers, he still could struggle to pass 2.30m. Unfortunately, Brendan Reilly (IRL) failed three times very closely at 2.26m.

Most of the other jumpers hesitated after a heavy rain shower at 2.05, and could not clear the following 2.10m due to a slippery ground.

Here are the detailed results of this edition:

Rank Name Perf.
1 Christian RHODEN (GER) 2.30m

Nice jump at 1.90 by M. Melova!

B. Kähler (winner 98) takes second place

Unfortunately the ladies' contest was also interrupted several times due to rain showers. Maria Melova (SVK) showed a very nice jump over 1.90 during her first attempt. Then, at 1.93m, which is the Slovakian norm for Sydney, it started again to ... rain after a very close first attempt. During her second try, she slipped off, and got a light injury on her lower leg.

The winner of 1998, Birgit Kähler, showed up in a very good shape up to 1.84m, and then missed three times 1.87m.

Here the overview of the contest:
