The weather was great! And even greater were the atmosphere and the performances.
Tomas Ort (CZE) confirmed his recent progressions. After jumping 2.28m last weekend, he had a perfect contest up to 2.26m. He then skipped 2.28 in order to push his personal best to 2.30m... unfortunately he missed it, but all three trials were so near misses that it seems quite logical he will pass this height in the near future.
Joan Charmant (FRA), last year's third, got the second place with 2.23m and thus also also confirming his good shape and his recent personal best of 2.26m. We all hope he will pass 2.28m, the minimum for the European Championships.
Meeting record holder Christian Rhoden (GER) did not yet get back to his usual performances after his operation at the Archilles' tendon. After passing at 2.15 he missed 2.20m three times.
On the Luxembourgish side, young Asmir Mirascic and Sven Forster (both CSL) improved respectively confirmed their personal best, and Claude Schaeffer (CAD) found back to 2m. Both Asmir and Sven showed very impressive jumps up to 2m, and it was only a very close miss that three FLA athletes jump 2m in one and the same contest.

Certainly profiting from this year's great weather, the ladies' contest was one of the best of the last years.
First, Maria Melova is back! After having known some difficulties during the early season, with a season best of modest 1.82m, Maria found back to her best days by passing ... 1.91m - personal meeting record.
In a very tight and interesting contest, Barbora Lalakova (CZE) got the second place by also passing 1.91m, but with more missed trials at the last height.
The ever present Birgit Kähler, certainly one of the most regular participants, had a very good contest up to 1.88m, but then at 1.91m missed three times. She had to leave Maria and Barbora alone in the battle for the victory.
Carole Kieffer (Fola) and Laurence Baum (CSL) both jumped honest 1.65. Both showed up quite motivated, but unfortunately missed 1.70, which is the minimum for the Games of the Small European States.
