Review of the 2009 edition

T. Kivimyagi back into season !

N. Dusanova and H. Desmet share second

And again what an exciting competition! It rained... but luckily only personal bests and season bests. The weather was very hot, sometimes windy, but overall quite great for highjumping.

Tatiana Kivimyagi is back after a long series of injuries with a nice competition. Nadeyia Dusanova and Hannelore Desmet, both finishing at 1.87m, share the second place. Hannelore, highly motivated and having an exceptional day, set a new personal best.

Valentina Lyashenko improved her season best by 1cm, and then we had three ladies with a performance of 1.78m: Beatrice Lundmark, Sietske Noorman and Liz Kuffer, who also had a fantastic day and improved her personal best of 4cm (!). She felt she could tackle the National record quite soon if her good training conditions in Cologne continue like this. Noémie Pleimling and Michèle Gaetti, after their appearance at last year's Promo-Jump, unfortunately did not really show what they are certainly capable of, and left the competition somewhat disappointed.

Promo-Jump 2009

K. Rutare wins - P. Thill improves

During the second Promo-Jump, 8 young local highjumpers could profit from the special conditions the Top Highjump competition is known for: many spectators, loud music and a good atmosphere. This year, the Luxembourg Federation FLA co-organized the competition, and the aim is clearly to promote highjumping in Luxembourg.

Arne Peeters, training partner from Hannelore Desmet, also took part in the competition, but outside of the actual Promo-Jump competition. He "won" with a performance of 1.96m. Kevin Rutare, jumped the second best performance, and thus wins the Promo-Jump with 1.90. The second, Philippe Thill, improves his personal best by no less than 8cm (blame it on the loud music), and jumps 1.83m. The local Wesley Charlet could not mask his lag in highjump-specific training, but nevertheless realized as well 1.83m.

Steve Braun and Tom Reuter managed to clear the height of 1.79m at the first attempt, but then unfortunately missed 3 times at the next height. Gilles Seil and Max Pintsch both finish at 1.70 and equalized their personal best, and Alex Holst jumps nicely up to 1.65m, but then unfortunately had 3 misses.
